Travel brings us precious memories, but it also stresses the environment. To promote sustainable traveling, WWF- Hong Kong accepted the invite from HK Express Airways (HK Express) to share the concept and feasible practices through lectures and workshops with students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The sharing from WWF was an integral part of the “Gotta GO! Sustainable Explorer Challenge” to call for sustained awareness and behavior change from the aspect of “Clothing, Eating, Living, Travelling”, as well as aviation sustainability.
Campaign Highlights:
Sustainable Travel Advocacy: Students were introduced to the principles and practices of sustainable travel, highlighting how responsible choices can positively influence local communities and safeguard the environment.
Youth Engagement: The “Gotta GO! Sustainable Explorer Challenge” inspired over 80 university teams to integrate sustainable actions into their travel itineraries, showcasing creativity and a commitment to greener travel solutions.
Significant Impact: The winning team’s successful implementation of sustainable travel habits during their reward trip highlights how small changes can lead to significant, positive results in travel behavior.
